Lissette was draw close to God from a very young age. She experienced the presence of the Holy Spirit every day of her short life. She was raised in church and went to Church with her mother every Sunday. They accompanied each other to church every Sunday and they walked home together. Their spiritual closeness was commendable. The bond between Lina and Lissette could not have been stronger.
Delroy and his mother worked closely together. He was his mother’s protector. Lina (Mrs. Powell) husband had died many years earlier and her sons became her protector. Delroy loved his mother dearly to the extent where he felt more comfortable living in at home with her.
Lina (Mrs. Powell) was independent she was a woman who could make a living on her own and of relying on herself for the things she needed. Even though she was self-reliant, people who knew her can attest to how nice a person she was. She had great love and companionship for others and she loved and served the Lord.
People who know these people cannot understand why their deaths were so brutal and senseless. They did not sought after trouble, yet trouble found them in their home.
Lissette Called on the Lord the morning of her death and this is taken from the last entry she made on Facebook.
