Lina

Lina was born at Sodom, Craighead, Manchester, Jamaica. Her parents were Frank and Addie Smith. Eva White her grandmother was from Bigwoods, Craighead, Manchester.

While attending Craighead school, Lina was among one of the top students in her class. She was privileged to study the Third Year Examination of which she was not successful. Because of her brilliance, she was encouraged to go back to school.

Going back to school was much of a challenge for her as she now had children. When the JSC examination first started in Jamaica, she studied at Christiana Senior School in the afternoons and passed five JSC subjects. She then had her eyes on the Police Force, but now with a husband and children, she just could not make the decision to leave her family behind to further her studies. She choose what was more important to her,”Family” which she never once regretted. She became a career farmer and housekeeper, a job that she was very happy to do.

As a young woman, she was a very sharp dresser which only enhanced her beauty.

May she be granted peace and the foot of her maker,Beauty and grace in the eyes of the Lord, and as a christian, peace within her eternity,

AMEN
